My Testimony

On Feb. 28th, 1972 I met Jesus. Believe it or not I even remember the time. The time was 12:25 p.m. I worked as a shipping clerk and next to shipping was the material office. Glass separated the rooms. There was this clerk in the material office, who was always warm and friendly. On this momentous day some men were gathered around his desk, teasing him. They wanted him to sing a song. So with a smile he began to sing, "How Great Thou Art." No he did not have a great voice but he sang as if he did. The men around him were laughing and at times kicking his chair or giving him light taps on the back of the head. I still see him this day in my mind. He paid no mind to what they were doing. He sang, looking up and was smiling through the whole song. As I was observing him, a 45 year old man, who turned himself into a long haired hippy, walked up and saw Ab singing. He laughed and said, "Look at that fool." I looked at this man who had left his family because they were making him feel old (as he always said). He and his friends were on a constant diet of pot. I then said to him, "If I had a choice between this man's world and yours I would choose this man's, for your way is everything I hate in this world." He grumbled and left. At noon hour I went in to Ab and said these exact words to him. "Whatever you have in your life I need and want also." He proceeded to sit me down and we went through the "Four Spiritual Laws" booklet. At 12:25 p.m. I gave my life to Jesus, right there with others around I prayed with him. There are many stories I could share with you but that day is the highlight of my life. I love Jesus more today then yesterday. He has never failed me. He has brought me through many storms in life. "I have been young and now I am old, I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging for bread. He is forever merciful, and lendeth, and his seed is blessed." Psalm 37:25,26 |
