Beginning Years

In 1973 I organized and established a bible study in my neighbourhood. A note went into the mailboxes of all my neighbours telling them that I want to share with them something I found in my life and I had coffee and donuts for them. There were twelve people that came the first night, 11 women and one man. The next week all twelve gave their lives to the Lord Jesus.

This grew into 3 weekly bible studies and a prayer meeting within the next 10 years. During these years hundreds gave their lives to the Lord, youth and adults alike. I raised and trained two groups to help me with the vast work, an adult and youth leadership group. This adult and youth leadership helped me with monthly seminars (many were weekend seminars), monthly movies and music concerts held in halls and high schools. There were many outings planned for the youth and it was the help of the adult and youth leaders that made the difference.

During these years the Lord had lead me to other Pastors who all respected my Non Denominational standings. These pastors took me into their watchful care and direction as I grew in the Lord. I love and respect these men a great deal because of their watchful care over me. I met with them weekly for prayer and guidance. Pastor Stan Hibbins, Pastor Andy Prinston, Pastor Roy Campbell and Pastor Jim Thompson were men of God and I will always remember them.

One of our monthly seminars was held at a Pentecostal Church that seated 2,000 people. It was jammed packed with people sitting on the floor in the aisle ways. I remember this event very well because it brought major changes and purpose in my ministry for the Lord. We had Charles and Francis Hunter out to minister to our Canadian city. The Amigos were the musical group who sang a song I will always remember - Ten Thousand Angels. On the second night I had to leave with my family early. I left the meeting in the hands of a faithful leader. As my family was leaving there was a street tramp standing outside the church crying as he was listening to the anointed song of Ten Thousand Angels. My wife and three children stood there and witnessed to this man leading him to the Lord. We were still with him as the people were leaving. What happened next shocked me. All these pumped up Spirit filled people pushed this man away from them and said nasty things to him as they came out. He was so happy he thought all who came out of that church were like my family. My wife and I were devastated and we cried before the Lord that night seeking His Face for His Church. At the end of the 3 day seminar Charles and Francis approached me and told me that they have never had a seminar like this one before. They praised the youth for their dedication and expertise. Many of these young leaders are now pastors, elders and leaders in churches all over Ontario.

Many people in 1978 began telling me I should start a church. Then in 1979 the Spirit led me to organize and established a church after two years of arguing with Him. Yes, I argued with the Lord. I told Him I did not want to start a church and it end up like the majority I have seen. My wife and I attended  a week long seminar in the U.S.A. where thousands were attending. It was the last night of this seminar that the guest speaker stopped preaching in the middle of his sentence and turned his head to the side of the auditorium and pointed in our direction. He said please see me at the front after I am done for the Lord has something to tell you. He then went right back preaching right where he left off. After my wife and I went down to the front and waited for him. He wasted no time at all. He came right up to me and laid his hands on me and said, "Stop arguing with God. You are a pastor and you are to go back home to Canada and fulfill your calling. I went out like a light. I do not know how long I was in the Spirit but I remember the Lord telling me He was instilling 3 things in my life. I remember I was amazed at them but to this day I do not know what they were but I believe God has burned them into my heart through time and continues to do so. I never spoke a word to the Pastor who prayed over me to give away my accent. He knew in the Spirit I was Canadian.

When I returned to Canada, after much prayer and fasting, I started a church in the basement of my home. This was in 1979 and it was in that year I was ordained by Christian Churches Of Canada. There were approximately 50 people who attended the first service of The Christian Fellowship. The church grew from there and moved to Amherstburg, Ontario. The church was renamed Amherstburg Christian Fellowship. The church organized and established an A.C.E. Church School which I had the awesome pleasure of pastoring and supervising for 6 years. During these years I kept the 3 bible studies and 3 times a week I ministered in a nursing home, providing music and services for the elderly. In 1990 the Spirit, with the witness of 3 evangelical friends of mine told me my work was done there and God wanted me to take a rest. I struggled with this, and with great torment, two years later, I finally obeyed God. I was leaving something I loved and treasured the most in life to do. Now after 15 years, the Spirit has released me from my rest. I am ready and long to go wherever He leads me to go. I am presently living in Australia and I am married to a very talented Australian woman named Trish.

If you require the services of a pastor please email me. Thank You Jesus.
