| Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph.6:10,11 |
| As I stated
in one of the pages before this during this study that
when one looks at this portion of scripture most see this list - standing, armour, girting the loins, breastplate, feet shod, shield, fiery darts, helmet, sword and of course prayer. Yes these words are all there in this scripture and yes it is armour. We picture in our minds one standing in a full suit of armour. Many pictures I have seen with this soldier standing in a suit of armour with the spiritual names on all the parts of the armour. This is fine but we mostly only see the armour. We see the words but our minds focus in on the armour. Once I seen it this myself but I focus and look at it much differently now. One gets the idea that when we go into prayer that we battle or go into battle. This is basically true but what is in this portion of scripture is not a prayer to battle state option but it is a mind state option. What Paul was trying to tell us is something totally different than what is focused on when one reads or is taught.
Lets look at another list What I want you to do is forget the first list, armour, which is physical and concentrate on the second list, which is Spiritual. To go into prayer is not the battle. That takes only discipline on our part. The problem concerning prayer is our state of mind, that is the battle. To prepare oneself to battle against the evil one and all his hordes, his tricks, dark sayings, arrows and all the other powers that be, we must first prepare the state of our minds. Lets look again at the beginning verse. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph.6:10,11 The command is - "To be strong in the Lord, and in the power of HIS MIGHT". It is a state of mind. It is called Faith in who we are, what we are, how we are and who we represent. Before I go on to say the next part I want you to first study these scriptures. What I am about to say is God's Truth so I want you to be spiritually prepared. One must see and realize this in their spirit. The Word of God is the vehicle for the Spirit of the Living God to prepare one to receive. I want you to understand one thing that is really important. It is the Spirit of God that leads us into all truth. God put me here and others to point to His truth. There is no man that has it all down pat, no matter how long he has been studying the Word of God. Do not disregard with what I am saying because of what you have learned from others. Let the Spirit lead you into all truth. Let men point you to the truth because you will not be able to blame no one but yourself. God gave you His Word and it is your responsibility to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Read Isaiah 34:16,17. Study these well and meditate on them. Read the chapter or the verses before and after to get the whole idea of the verses as a whole.
That is enough food for you for this week. Study well.
